The Level 2 Certificate in Basic First Aid is designed to train individuals and company staff that require appointed person training in basic first aid skills and require training in the management of specific illnesses and injuries. This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

The Basic First Aid course is designed to meet the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety First Aid at Work (1981) Regulations for Appointed Persons in the Workplace.

Student Materials Includes: Essential Skills Guide Emergency Reference Guide Successful Completion Card Emergency Plan & Guidance Card Wall Certificate Course Evaluation and Statement of Understanding Form FAQ Candidate Information Pack Hands-on Skill Practice Students will practice the essential skills in small groups and will apply these skills in scenario sessions during the course. Course Duration Initial Training: 14 hours Retraining time: 6 Hours (not VRQ) Assessment Students are assessed throughout the course by assessor observation of the essential skills. An awarding body externally assessed knowledge assessment takes place at the end of the course.
